The new VW Golf R has been revealed and it’s the fastest version of the iconic hatch ever. The all-wheel drive flagship Golf now has 296bhp, up from 267bhp, with its 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine and all-wheel drive sending the six-speed DSG version from 0-62mph in a feisty 4.9sec – matching the BMW M135i, but still shy of the Mercedes A45 AMG, which cracks it in 4.6sec. Citroen are calling this the ‘DS High Rider Concept‘ and have announced it will be at the Geneva Motor Show in a couple of months. But this is the new Citroen DS4 which was teased earlier this week and is Citroen’s next in the DS range. The ‘High Rider’ Concept is actually showing as a three door, but it will certainly spawn an extra pair of doors before it hits the road.

BMW surprised the Villa d’Este glitz-fest at the weekend with the Mini Superleggera Vision concept car. Produced in association with la famosa carrozzeria Touring, it’s like Mini’s found Doc Brown’s time machine and headed back to the Swinging Sixties. But fast forward a year or two and CAR can reveal that BMW is seriously considering launching a cute little roadster in line with what you see here.
